But the ride and handling are really outstanding! The trunk is also quiet roomy and I could fit my mountain bike in there with the trunk closed. If the battery gets used up it automatically goes into Hybrid mode and will use a combination of gas and electric. of gas since I charge after driving either at home on a 110 outlet or at a public charging station and the 50 or so miles (depends on temperature) is plenty for most of my driving. So far I have had my car for 1100 miles and I have only used 3 gal. SPORT is very fast and I … don't need it really. I mostly drive in ECON and it has more than enough power for my needs including merging onto the highway. The engineering that Honda put in this vehicle is amazing - there are about 9 different drive modes from ECON to SPORT to HV each handles slightly differently. I am extremely happy with my Clarity for many reasons. though she admitted she it a bit put off by the different driving modes. I am a retired Engineer, and some have said its a car designed by Engineers for use by Engineers, but I think my wife could get used to it. Much has been said about the styling of the car, but I definitely like the odd styling. I do care about the audio quality, and that is pretty decent. I didn't buy it for that, and I find Apple CarPlay to make the matter mute. Much has been said about the Entertainment system being antiquated. However, the suspension is a bit stiff for my taste, but no car is perfect. I find the acceleration to be reasonably brisk, especially in Sport mode. The car is pretty silent in EV mode, and less noisy than my wife's Accord while in HV Mode, and even in "HV Charge" mode (which some complain about). Normal, Eco, HV, and Sport, but HV can be … combined with all but Eco. However, this car does have to be "managed", meaning, you should know what mode to put the car in before you set out. My favorite on this car is being able to do most of my daily driving in EV mode. My wife has an Accord, and I have a Clarity base model, though I drive hers on occasion.
